Example:

Structure: No sooner had + Sub+ verb (3) ---- than +Sub + Past + etc.

Hardly had+ Sub + verb (3) ---when / before + Subject+ Past + etc.
Example:

Structure: (1) Past perfect + before + Past Indefinite.
         (2) Past Indefinite + after + Past Perfect Tense.
Example:
